WE'RE WORKING TOWARDS A GOAL OF $500

THIS AMOUNT WILL GELD 7:

3 -COLTS, 2 THREE YR. OLDs, AND 2 JACK DONKEYS

AND ALSO HAVE

THE PROUD FLESH REMOVED FROM SARA BETH UNDER SEDATION

This is a great cause! Please consider helping us meet our goal!

Please contact us at phoenix.rising.horserescue@hotmail.com if you would like to help by donating your time, skills, resources, hay or grain...we operate on a non-profit basis, so without the support of kind hearted individuals across America, our efforts alone would be too little, too late.

If you are interested in one of the horses listed here, you can contact Phoenix Rising and/or the individual party or Rescue themselves. NOT ALL HORSES LISTED HERE ARE PROPERTY OF PHOENIX RISING HORSE RESCUE. When this site began, it was with the intention of helping anyone anywhere rehome their horse(s). Please bear that in mind when you are looking at the horses - some of these are rescues; however some are horses from an excellent background -whose owners are having to let them go for circumstances beyond their control -  which we are merely helping to find new homes.

If you have a horse or horses that are no longer wanted FOR ANY REASON, please consider donating them to Phoenix Rising. We will do right by you and your equine friend: and will work to find a great new home for your horse.

If you know of any horses that are being neglected or abused, please do not wait another day to contact us or your local law enforcement. Here in the heartland, officials are for some reason often unknowledgeable or unwilling to get involved...if that is what you've come up against, contact us and we'll help get an investigation rolling.

If each person holds up their little candle, together we can make a real difference

in the lives of beautiful, noble horses.

This site is dedicated to This Poor Girl...and those like her

This is what neglect looks like. The owners explanation? "She's just old."

However, she wasn't too old to bear a lovely little palamino foal for them...look behind her. She wasn't only skeletal; look at her matted mane.

There was simply no care here at all.

I dedicate this site to this poor little lady; and all those like her.

I learned a very costly lesson with this horse. I knew the people who owned her; so I held back...knowing they were 'good people'; and probably just uneducated about how to care properly for an older horse. Well, She was 'taken away', leaving behind the 4 mo. old foal. I lost her - didn't have time to make her remaining years comfortable...because I let myself give the owners the benefit of the doubt.

This horse haunts me. I can't stop thinking about her, and how I let her down. I see her sweet face and kind eyes; I fold and unfold the papers I'd had ready to take to the authorities to intervene on her behalf. I was just a few days too late.

  It will not happen again.

I'm so sorry, Little Skeleton Girl. Please forgive me.

To save babies like these, we need your help!

Rescues have to buy Nurse Mare Foals to save them from a horrible fate;

and then it requires a huge commitment of time, expensive milk replacer, and months of care

before a rescued foal can be adopted out to it's new home.

Working hard to save precious lives, one at a time.
