ABOUT US

Established in the fall of 2005, Phoenix Rising Horse Rescue began as a on-line rescue; working in conjunction with Law Enforcement Officials, Humane Services, and other rescues across America and into Canada. PRHR has helped arrange 'ransom' money, emergency food, veterinary care, transportation, and helped find new homes for over 300 horses via the internet alone. Copious hours of work, research, and phone calls were involved; and I first started this internet site as a place to showcase a herd of 86 Morgan horses that needed rehoming from Alberta, Canada.

Then in the fall of 2006, PRHR was approached with it's first owner relinquishment horse, and things just snowballed after that! We now usually have around 25 equine at the facility at any given time. We get them in from abuse and neglect cases; owner relinquishments, other rescues, from horse sales using donated or personal funds to save the ones we can, and for a host of other reasons. We work to rehabilitate them, bring them back to a medically & emotionally sound state of being, train them, and then they're ready for a new forever home!

We have been blessed with the Lord's guidance, and some fantastic volunteers! Here's a shout out to specifically: Samantha, Olivia, Darryl, Jo, Brandi, Shannon & Lynnette of 'Horsie Hilton Training', Will, Sheryl, Tera, Nick, and Skippy and Brenda of 'Diamond J Training'! I'd also like to thank our RIGHTEOUS veterinarian, Amy Halsey of Chambers, NE.



She's a little bitty gal with a great big heart! Thank you! Without you all, much of what we've accomplished would not have been done in such a timely manner! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

As a private rescue, PRHR operates on a not-for-profit basis. We will be working towards attaining our 501c Tax exempt status this coming year; at which time we hope to be able to apply for grants or corporate sponsors. It's amazing how much we've been able to do just with sheer determination and the Grace of God! From July of 2007 to July of 2008, we have adopted out 35 horses and 1 donkey! It's unbelieveable!

PRHR would also like to thank the other rescues and individuals across Nebraska and the USA for their help and resources. Without the support network we have together, many of these beautiful animals would slip between the cracks. I've especially appreciated the donations of medicine, tack, and supplements from others! After the devestating hail storm in June of 2008, some wonderful people stepped up to the plate and provided us with much needed supplies and donations towards our veternarian bill. Thank you all!
