Meet Harriet Pearl, a permanent resident of Phoenix Rising.

As a youngster, her leg was dislocated at the shoulder. The people who had her donated her to Phoenix Rising because they felt it was the best thing for her at the time. Through deep tissue massage, lots of prayers, and time; we've gotten her back to good health. She has only a slight limp to show anything was ever wrong with her; that, and her hoof on that leg has a weird crevice in it that never grows out.

She's been with us over six years; and is everybody's darling. She's 'Free Range' in that she just walks through the horse fences and roams around where she pleases! She also is a warrior - keeping coyotes away. We've seen her standing between a coyote and the yard, where the horses are at night. Our dogs love her too; we used to have a lab cross that would lay on top of Harriet to sleep when she laid down!

It humbles me to think about Christ riding on a donkey - just like our Harriet. Sometimes I bury my face in her coat and think about that; it makes me so grateful to have her. She has a sweet spirit and loves us back with a steadfast loyalty.

I wanted to name her 'Dragon' ....because then I could honestly say, "The day's been long; and my ass is Dragon"....but my husband named her the feminine version of his dad Harry's name (what an honor) and my youngest daughter added the fancy "Pearl".

  I need an Angel.  Will you be my Angel?

LOUIS IS A FANCY ASS...HE HAS PAPERS! HE WAS ONCE A WILD ASS,

AND CAME FROM THE BLM. HE'S 7 YEARS OLD; AND LOVES HARRIET WITH THE

WHITE-HOT INTENSITY OF A THOUSAND SUNS. AWWWW.. HE'S ADORABLE!
